One of the pet owners’ dilemmas is maintaining their houses clean when their dogs are shedding too much. There are grooming tools that intend to remove loose hair and possibly dead hair that might fall out. Maybe the solution to this problem is to find ways to help your dog to prevent shedding. Here are some tips that you can do at home:
Use De-Shedding Brush
If you spend a few minutes a day using this tool, you can reduce shedding by up to 90 percent, and almost every groomer I’ve worked with also advocates a spray-on conditioner that my pups use to enhance the process. Try one and see what works for your pet. If you don’t like the brand, don’t give up; try another.
You should do this every day; if your puppy gets dressed every day, it will be efficient, and there will be almost no hair in the house. I suggest doing it outside because brushes and rakes work well and cause significant damage. It will be a lot more work to vacuum your hair. If you take care of your pups this way, the added benefit is that there will be much less pollution in the house where your puppies spend a lot of time each day. Anyone suffering from thinning pet hair will notice an immediate improvement.
Practice a Balanced Raw Diet
Many pet foods are labeled “holistic” and guarantee that they are what your pet needs; the diet plan that feeds your furry friend. If you’d like to learn more about a Paleo diet I developed, you can read about it here. A homemade raw food diet can improve your pet’s coat and reduce shedding. Some dogs have a poor coat and shed excessively even though they are on a diet.
Supplement Omega-3 Fatty Acid
If you decide to feed your puppy one of these cheaper industrial foods, you need a source of excess omega-3 fatty acids. Some of the larger commercial pet foods that advertise “less dandruff” and “contain fatty acids” really don’t have enough to give your pet a healthy coat that can have less dandruff. These companies are in the pet food business to make a profit. They will incorporate the cheapest source available and may not meet your pet’s additional needs.
A little more fish in the diet may be sufficient, but if you don’t have access to fish, you can take olive oil. The dosage recommended by the company can be high, but not excessive, which is an excellent procedure to strengthen the coat and also keep your pet from falling off.
