Zoey (AKA) Lucy...

We think things are going extremely well!

Thought you might be interested in a short update. Zoey has definitely made herself right at home here, as you can see from the pictures! She is getting along great with Sydney, our golden and they play non-stop until one or the other runs out of gas. I think Zoey may have some border collie in her. She "hunkers" down flat to the ground, gets her rear-end wiggling and then takes off like a shot to start to chase Sydney. She is a very bright, alert girl who notices everything and takes it all in stride. She whined for about 5 minutes both nights, then settled down in her crate in the living room and slept through the night. She is definitely full of energy in the mornings; much more effective than caffeine for waking up! A couple of accidents, but we are learning her routine and she is learning to tell us when she needs to go out.

Most importantly, we wanted to take a minute to thank you both for all that you do with your rescue work. Without your dedication and caring, Zoey would have never made it into our lives and hearts! She is quite the character, but we wouldn't have it any other way! Thanks again.

Thought I would send a couple of newer pictures and give an update on Zoey. She has definitely endeared herself to us all and has basically become the head of the household! Our vet agreed with all of you when we took her for her third set of shots that she would be around 60 pounds but I guess since we see her everyday it's hard to picture her "grown up". She is getting a longer coat and is starting to grow a ruff around her neck and "pants" on her back legs. She also has many more spots these days, and is still THE most adorable four-legged creature we have ever seen! We call her our "mystery dog" ! She lived through her toenails being clipped and her first bath although she tried with everythig she had in her to convince us that she was in mortal pain on both occasions! She also experienced her first "frenetic shredding of a magazine while no one is here to stop me" episode this week which was MUCH more fun for her! Hope all is well with you both!
