Dearest Tera and Marilyn:
We, (Greg, myself, Sweetness, and my beautiful baby girl Peanut who owes
her life to you two), want to wish you a very happy New Year 2008.
Our Peanut is 5 months old today... and since we adopted her a couple of
months ago (at age 9.5 weeks), she has been a TOTAL joy and a blessing to
our family... and a perfect sister to our Sweetness... She is right now
playing with Sweetness in the living room and bossing him around... We
have actually nick named her "no peanut"... sometimes when we wake up in
the morning, I count the seconds to see how long before she hears her 1st
"no" of the day... although today, she hasn't heard any "no's" as of
yet... but no worries, the day has just began....
But kidding aside, our Peanut has become (and always was) a most beautiful
pup... she weighed about 6 lbs two weeks ago at the vet visit... she will
probably grow another couple of lbs but not much more... she definitely
looks like a Yorkshire terrier and miniature dob pin...
And oh my God, this little girl eats and eats and eats... she first
finishes her plate (which, by the way, has portions as big as Sweetness'
-- who is 1.5 yrs old and 14 lbs) and then proceeds to eat from Sweetness'
plate... she also steals his cookies right from under his nose! She is
definitely an alpha dog... I have also nick named her "lean, mean pooping
machine..." and of course we had to remove all the icicles hanging from
the bottom of our Christmas tree because we found one shiny strand in her
little poop... Oops... she just heard her 1st "no mommy's doll, not my
tennis shoes" of the day... followed by about 7 or 8 kisses... sorry I
couldn't resist, she is so adorable...
My little Peanut... I am so grateful to you for rescuing her (and her
family)... so that today we can have this bundle of joy in our house...
she is an incredibly loving little girl... and she is so very
intelligent... she has learned so much in these short couple of months at
our house... she is sooo well behaved, sooo well adjusted, and just a good
little girl... and I am certain that it is because you, Marilyn, gave her
lots of love, comfort, and peace when she was a baby...
She has lost most of her front bottom teeth in the last couple of weeks I
think... although she won't let me open her mouth to see them... and now I
am trying to figure out how to slowly move her potty newspapers from the
dining room area so that she may start using their outdoor enclosed yard
area...
She loves to sleep literally on my chest (or on my pillow) and place her
little nose right onto my eye socket! When I want to pet Sweetness (to
make sure that he isn't "neglected"), I have to be very very quiet,
otherwise Peanut will hear it and run at a speed of 1000 miles/hour from
wherever she is, to make sure that she too gets petted/kissed... And when
Greg comes home at night, the very first thing that he does is to sit on
the kitchen floor to play with Sweetness and Peanut... and Peanut will
jump a foot up in the air to shower him with kisses on his mouth...
Here's our family picture... we ae truly blessed with these two little
ones... What else can I say... other than, if there was another life
before this one, I must have done something good in my past life for God
to have blessed me today with the ability to feel and absorb the love, and
to see and appreciate the greatness of creatures like Peanut and other
animals on this planet... I always think that "hell" if it existed, would
be a place where people lived forever young with an abundance of money,
sex, food, cloths, cars, fancy things, blue oceans, sunny skies, endless
prairies, and no animals of any kind...
Anyways, Tera and Marilyn, I wanted to make sure that I send you this note
to tell you how grateful we are for the two of you and for the incredible
work that you do... Thank you for saving the lives of these beautiful
souls.
We are wishing you and your families the best in 2008 and beyond.
Hoorik and Greg
