Thought you'd like to know, Oscar went on a camping trip with us
last week. He behaved very well and got to meet 6 other dogs. He did
have a hard time figuring out my in-laws pug, we stopped off at
their house on the way north.
We spent about 4 nights tent camping and the days fishing the
Clayvee (sp?) river north west of Yosemite. Oscar stayed in the tent
with Brooke & me at night and did very well. We did keep him on a
leash because we figured he would see deer or chipmunk and be
gone. He wrestled with a friends hound dog a couple of times, Oscar
won the match 4-0. He travels very well, he likes the back seat of
the F250 crew cab we have.
On the way back home we drove over the Sonora Pass and stopped
at Mammoth Lakes, then hiked to the Devil's Postpile and Rainbow
Falls. They make you take a shuttle bus down into the canyon, so we
think Oscar rode in his first bus. Brooke held him on his lap &
Oscar looked out the windows.
We stayed in a motel in Mammoth, Oscar did better in the tent. Maybe
he had too much "room" to patrol at the motel. He slept most of the
way home after that, our creek out back doesn't hold as much mystery
as it did after playing in a river for 4 days. We will send pictures
soon!
