Hello! We're glad to hear from you! Sorry it took me so long to get back
to you! Here's an update on Jackson (with pictures attached):
Jackson is 10 months old now, over 70 pounds, and is still all puppy! (One
picture shows him laying on our 8 foot couch). He loves sitting on the
couch with us and he'll roll onto his back when he wants his tummy rubbed.
He loves people and gets so excited whenever anyone visits. He licks
everyone - his favorite thing is to sniff people's ears & then lick their
face! He chews on everything (from tree bark to our rug to our walls) & he
still loves his stuffed toys. He loves to sit in the backyard and sniff
the air and explore - we're lucky that he doesn't want to try to get out.
He loves to play in water (especially his water bucket) & then bring his
muddy paws inside! We installed a doggy door a few days after we brought
him home & he had no problems using it (& he's never had a potty accident
since)! We took Jackson to PetSmart for puppy training, completed 22 weeks
of classes, and he is now CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certified (we're very
proud of him)!
A few months ago we adopted another puppy so Jackson wouldn't be so
lonely. It took him a couple of weeks to realize Maddie wasn't going away
& they're inseparable! They play well together and they lick each other
and get into trouble together. Since we've gotten her he has become much
gentler when playing with us even (he used to bite us up and rip our
clothes because he thought we were his playmates). And then a few weeks
ago we took on my parents' dog (a 13 year old shepherd mix) & Jackson's
been really good about leaving Max alone & not playing with him because of
his arthritis. Jackson & Maddie have even helped Max start eating more and
moving a little more!
We are so happy with Jackson and love our big humongous puppy to pieces!!
I'm so glad that we came into Petco & adopted him that day!! I'm also so
very thankful to you for loving these puppies and your hard work keeping
them healthy when they were babies!
Thank you so much,
Carin & Brett Leavitt
Jackson, Maddie, & Max too!
PS: I would love to hear about Jackson's brothers & sisters & see what
they
look like too - especially if any are as big as him!
Jackson (AKA) Trail was one of Abie's pups.
