Mom came into the rescue with 12 puppies who
were only a day old. About 9 days later, Mom stopped nursing and
Foster Mom had to step in and take over. For over 3 weeks, Victoria,
family and friends bottle fed 12 puppies. They all survived. That in
and of itself is a miracle. How Victoria ever survived is still a
miracle to us today as she was the one person who bottle fed every
single time. Sometimes she had help but at 3am she was up by herself
taking care of them.
Now, the pups have all gone to their homes and Alexia is from that
litter that are alive because of the dedication of one woman.

Thought you would like to see her in her new home. No name yet! We
kicked around Freedom, Liberty and Patriot, as well as True Blue
("Blue"), but we are still getting to know her. Already she seems to
respond to "Little Girl......"
Thank you so much for being so patient with us - well, ME - today. I
had such a hard time and was ready to take them both home! You have
done a fantastic job with all the puppies and I know our family will
be thanking you for years to come.
I can't wait to hear about the other little girl's family, too!

Hello - We are the "parents" that adopted Independence ("Indy,"
"Indy-pants" or "Miss Pants"). She was one of the twelve pups who were
hand-fed from two weeks old. We got her last September on September 11
(hence her name).
We just wanted to tell you how much we love her. She is so sweet and soft
and cuddly. She has a LOT of energy but we work it out with the racquet
ball every morning (and with the other two shepherds.) We even took her to
puppy class to help her assimilate with other dogs. She takes after our
Heeler mix, however, and still barks at everything. Those two are
inseparable.
Her favorite thing in the wordl is the carboard "roll" left after you are
finished with a roll of paper towels or toilet paper. She trots around the
whole house very proudly with it and treats it like her favorite stuffed
toy. She is also our only "pool" dog. The other two want nothing to do
with the water, but Indy just hops right in after the ball and gets soaked
without thinking about it. When it's hot out, we will hear a "splash" and
there she is sitting on the top step just looking at us - one ear up and
one down. My husband is smitten.
We just wanted to keep you updated and tell you how grateful we were.
We'll send some photos soon. I wish we had taken her sister, too, (the
last girl). If we hadn't already had two at home we would have done so in
a minute. Indy is such a joy - thank you so much!
Take care - Rachael, Jeff, Baron, Jack and Indy

Here are some older pics. From the day we got her to just before
Christmas. I have some new ones at home I will send them next week! She is
growing like a weed. Not as large as we thought she would get, but big and
floppy : )

I was looking at other pictures of Abbie's pups (so many look like
Independence, it's crazy - I feel like it's "My Big Fat Greek
Wedding.") I saw the "No Name" success story pup - it is actually our
Indy the day we brought her home! She looks so different now - I can't
believe it. I sent Victoria pics of her the other day so I thought I
would shoot the same ones to you (because we are such show offs and
think she is so pretty). I really love seeing her siblings and all
their happy families.
Talk to you soon - R
Independence (Indy) was one of Abie's pups.
