Cowboy...
Update:
Cowboy has a new sister...Gypsy! The whole family's doing great & they all
love each other!

Cowboy is doing great. Everyday he makes me laugh. He has so much
personality and enthusiasm for life. I think Luke, our other dog,
wishes Cowboy weren't such an attention hog. He must be first for all
personal greetings. If Luke is getting some loving, then Cowboy pushes
in front as though we must be mistaken... Didn't we see him there?
I
honestly have considered writing a book about his adventures in life.
He climbed out a second story window in my bathroom (pushed through the
screen) and hopped along a high ledge and was waiting on the lattice
work that overhangs the patio when we returned from a run one morning
shortly into his stay with us. The stories go on and on.
Last weekend we checked out a dog ranch that we're going to use during
our vacation this winter to board our dogs. We brought Cowboy and Luke
with us to test it out. We were worried about Cowboy because he's not
friendly with other dogs but our own, but he passed the test! He was
surrounded with big dogs and acted a little scared at first but didn't
fight or run and hide so we're thrilled. You have to check this place
out! It's an hour and a half away from us but we're willing to make the
drive to give them a fun vacation of their own.
Tera's note:
Cowboy (previously Montana)
was a joint venture between Zara's List and AMRT (www.amrt.net)
to rescue. They bailed him out of the shelter (East Valley LA City)
and fostered for a bit and then we took over fostering and the two
of us worked together to place him. He remains a special guy to us
not because he only has 3 legs but because of his wonderful
temperament and his willingness to go with us where-ever we asked
until he found that permanent home.
