Here are a couple pics I promised. One is her "Froggie doggie" pose and
the other is her and Molly laying with my son. He takes them for walk
after school and they both adore him.
We're all still adjusting and getting settled but she's turned out to be a
great addition to our family.
Thanks again!
All the best,

Dear Victoria,
I thought I would write and tell you my story of evacuating from Lake
Arrowhead during the fires. As you know, when I left your home in April, I
went to live with a big family in the mountains. This was fun because I
gained 2 dog brothers and a sister who looks almost identical to me. I
didn't like the snow and rain at first but the summers have been great
fun. We romp in the forest and chase squirrels.
The only down side to living in the mountains are the risk of fires. When
the first fire hit that Monday, it was mom's day off and so we all just
packed up and got ready to leave. They almost didn't let dad back up the
mountain to come get us. My human brother packed my toys and all the dog
treats as they knew we would be leaving the house for a good amount of
time. They got a little worried about where I and my 3 siblings were going
to live as grandma's house in Anaheim was not set up for 4 dogs.
Mom and dad saw the dogs at the evacuation center and realized there just
wasn't room and we wouldn't be as happy. We stayed with mom and dad in a
borrowed RV outside grandma's and the two boy dogs stayed in grandma's
backyard. They are 17 and just mainly sleep all day so Molly and I didn't
miss them that much. It was cramped in the RV and sometimes we just didn't
like each other very much.
Also, Spencer, my 17yr. old dog brother got sick as a result of the
evacuations and we were kinda worried. We took him to the Humane Society
in San Bernardino and they were super! They really care about us and want
us to be healthy. They fixed up Spencer and only asked for a donation in
return.
In Anaheim, we couldn't really chase squirrels but we found other ways to
play. Grandma's neighbors are close by and they understood we were
rambunctious and missing our play time in the mountains. I liked to greet
grandma's neighbor early in the morning when she stepped out to get her
paper. Boy was she surprised to see me! We mostly laid on the bed while
mom and dad watched for fire updates. The fire came close to our house and
we had to air out smoke when we got home but it was the best when we got
back home and could play and chase squirrels again.
Also, I put on what mom calls "evacuation pounds". I gained four pounds
(mostly grandma's table scraps) but my doggie sister wouldn't eat much and
she lost 4lbs.
Anyway, we're back and all okay. You were such a good foster mom, I knew
you'd worry and I didn't want you to. We all thought of you when we passed
by Corona on the way to grandma's and hope that the fires didn't come
anywhere near you. We're okay now and never want to go through that again.
Love and licks,
Bridgette
