Bodhi (AKA) Blackberry...
Jan. 26,  2008

Tera,

Our family adopted "blackberry," now known as "Bodhi." He is doing fabulously, and we absoluetly adore him! My vet wanted to know what worm merdication you gave the puppies. His fecal sample came back negative, but they still want to know what he got. Also, I haven't yet received the various paper work from the organization yet.

P.S. I attached a couple of photos. The GSD is my mom's dog (my previous dog's little sister) and they love each other!

Whoo Hoo !!!  Let me tell you about my new home and family !!!

Hello,

We adopted Bodhi, formerly known as 'Blackberry.' He is absolutley amazing! He is wonderful with babies, toddlers, children & adults. He loves other dogs, and even our cat. He's also good with horses.

He is definately a water dog! Since the day we got him, he has been walking into the shower with us whenever we take one. And when I water the yard, he plays in the hose water. We introduced him to swimming in a pool on Easter Sunday, and he loved it! We took him kayaking around Dana Point Harbor last weekend, and he loved it. He even played fetch in the water!

He doesn't have many bad habits. He digs, but never in the flowers. He likes to take the inserts out of my husbands shoes, and lick them. But he's only chewed 1 pair of flip flops. Other than that, he's an angel!

Until last week, he had only barked when playing with another dog or the cat. Last week he barked for the first time because someone came to the house. But only about 4 deep barks, & then he was over it.

He can be a bit dominant with passive dogs, and definately plays like a big dog. But for the most part, he has a very even keeled temperment. He is incredibly loving with people, very lab like.

It appears that he looks nothing like his brother & sisters. The german shepherd is much more dominant in him. But I don't know where he gets his tail. Looks like maybe the husky in him. And the vet said his ears will never stand up, not enough cartlidge. He is 44 pounds, and we think he'll be about 65 lbs at the most when he fills out.

He's very agile, and can jump straight up, all 4 legs, about 4 feet high. He's incredibly easy to train, and and very food driven.

Bodhi truly is a blessing and a joy to have in our family!
