Consistent Feeding
To start off, feed your dog at set times and for specific lengths of time. In other words, if you feed your dog twice a day continue to do so, but make certain that both feedings take place at specific times. Additionally each meal should only take 10 to 20 minutes. If the dog hasn't finished eating after 20 minutes, take the food up. The purpose of this is simple. If you control when the dog eats, it becomes much easier to predict when the dog will eliminate. This allows you a greater chance to praise the dog when he/she eliminates in the correct place.

Consistent Walking Schedule
When owners are home and awake, they should take their dog to the area they want the dog to eliminate in at least one time every 90 minutes. With puppies under six months, the dog should be taken out every 40 to 60 minutes. This is difficult, but owners that consistently follow this type of disciplined walking schedule are rewarded with a housetrained dog. When your dog eliminates in the correct spot, praise, praise, praise!

Eliminate past "accidents" with an odor neutralizer. Remember that dogs are attracted to places they've eliminated in before. Part of how they remember where they've gone is through the scent that's been left. An odor neutralizer, available at Petco, can drastically reduce, and in many instances, eliminate these odors, making it far less likely the dog will return to eliminate in the same spot again. Doing this in conjunction with a disciplined walking and feeding schedule should help you to successfully housetrain your dog.

	Make certain your pet is in good health before starting any training program. Adult dogs that are house-soiling may have medical problems causing this behavior. Check with your veterinarian to rule out any physical ailments.

	Be consistent. If you want your pet to consistently eliminate outdoors, you will need to follow a consistent feeding and walking schedule.
