Almost 2 years ago a woman came into the pet store where we were doing adoptions at that time and asked if we needed volunteers for our cats. Was that a life changing day for our rescue! We had no idea what a gem we were getting and how invaluable she would be to our rescue animals.

Charlene Gardner is the woman you will find during the week tending to her babies at Petco where we house our cats. She takes a personal interest in each one and knows everything there is to know about her cats. She selflessly gives of her time M-F to take care of the rescue cats. We often hear how sad it is that cats have to stay at Petco but anyone who has ever met Charlene and seen her in action knows just how lucky each and everyone of those cats truly is because of the individual attention they get from her.

Charlene could easily just go in and clean the cages and be gone within an hour. But that's not how she does things. She takes time with each one and makes sure their nails are trimmed, ears cleaned and that each one has a clean bed and that's after her daily scrubbing of each cage. She shows that extra attention that lets our rescue cats know that they are special. Well, we know how special Charlene is and we're so grateful to have her as part of our rescue!
