Whoo Hoo !!!  Let me tell you about my new home and family !!!
Pumpkin and Peaches
May 10, 2008

Just wanted to touch base with you regarding our babies.

As you can see, Rich renamed Princess to Peaches. We can’t tell you enough how happy we are. They are so loveable and are constantly by our sides. I guess you could say they are our shadows. We think Peaches is younger than you thought because she still has a lot of puppy traits. They play together so well and we really get a kick out of watching them. Rich has taught Peaches to sit and shake hands. Pumpkin already knew what sit meant. They also play with toys alone and together.

They get along well with our cat and Peaches lets the cat wash her face. Pumpkin will still leak when she gets excited, but is getting much better. She sleeps cuddled up to me at night. She can’t seem to get close enough. Peaches sleeps under the covers at the bottom of the bed or cuddled to our legs. They won’t go to bed until we do and wait patiently for us. We do confine them to the kitchen/dining area when we go out and they are just fine.

They have beds and share with each other and the cat. Pumpkin eats delicately. In fact we had to hand feed her to get her eating when we first got them. Peaches seems to swallow her food whole. She doesn’t chew at all and devours it so fast. It’s like she hasn’t eaten in weeks. She’s filled out some and looks just perfect. Pumpkin’s ears have finally healed from the bites she must have gotten from other dogs. Their coats are beautiful and shiny. They ride in the car very well.

We went to Lake Havasu two weeks ago to visit our son and his family and they did just fine. Our son has two pit bulls who are like lap dogs and we were a little leary as to how our dogs would react as Pumpkin does not like big dogs, but once we let them all loose in the back yard, they were all fine. Our granddaughter also turned three while we were there and she just loved our previous dogs. She thought Pumpkin was our Zina who was the last to pass away. The dogs were just fine with her and they even let her pick them up to love them. They also cuddled up on the couch with our son & his wife which was really nice.

As you can tell, they are definitely our babies and we truly love them and are so grateful to have them in our lives. They are such company to Rich while I’m working. It’s funny how they have some of the traits of our previous dogs, but they each have their own unique traits. We wouldn’t trade them for anything. I just know they were meant to be ours.

Thank you so much for saving them so that we in turn could save them and give them a good home.

P.S.  Thought you might like to see how healthy and content our sweet little girls are.  Peaches is with our cat, Samantha.  The three of them play and sleep together.  I thought we were going to lose our cat, but I guess she was just pining for our two little ones that we lost.  She wouldn't eat and lost a lot of weight.  Once Pumpkin & Peaches entered our home she started eating and has gained her weight back and is healthy and back to her old self again.
