Snow White and the Dwarfs

We'd made our rounds at the shelter, purposely avoiding the cat room. Most of our cat volunteers and fosters are on a break until the spring when kitten season is in full mode. However, one of the volunteers decides to peak in the cat room and can't say no to taking at least one cat. It's the motto of Zara's List. We may not be able to save them all, but we'll each do our own part. So she decides on a cat and quickly goes to the front to adopt the cat. Unfortunately the cat is already taken, so back to the cat room she goes. She sees a beautiful long haired white cat that had been there for several weeks. She decides on her and again trots up to the front. This one is available and our volunteer is excited to at least save one cat's life. Or so she thought...

After handing the crate to the kennel attendant and receiving her paperwork, the clerk casually says, "Oh yeah, you know she's pregnant don't you?"

Silence. Gulp. Thoughts rushing through her head, "Oh my gosh, what am I going to do with a pregnant cat..." Well, 2 days later she knew what she was going to do as she stood watch over Snow White as she had 4 beautiful little kittens. So there wasn't 7 to complete the Dwarfs but 4 is good enough and the journey with our first Mom and newborn kittens of the 2007 season has begun...
