A couple of days before Thanksgiving two of us were in the lobby of the Animal Shelter. In came a young woman and wrapped in an old white rag, was an itty bitty kitten. You see when your there and someone brings in a kitten so tiny that it won’t survive without feeding from its mother, the unthinkable happens. This little baby would have been humanely “you know”! So, as we do, we stepped in, and made “Pilgrim” a Thanksgiving promise! This little baby will not be a number but would be placed in a foster home, bottle fed, and mothered by not just one human foster mom, but two.

It takes a special foster home to foster one as young as Pilgrim. But, because of our amazing volunteers we had 3 foster homes, trained in saving wee ones, step up to bat. I’m sure had we called more they would have been there also!!! Pilgrim is doing great and growing every day. Feeding time for one so young is approximately every 3 to 4 hours. As Pilgrim gets older feeding time grows further apart. Then soft food will be introduced and then to every ones joy “a cat box”. Pilgrim is available for adoption, but will not be placed in his new home until the approximate age of 10 weeks or weighing in at 2 pounds. Around Christmas time is our guess.

Pilgrim will not go to adoptions. We will accept applications and once we have a match will make an appointment to meet with Pilgrim’s future family!

Pilgrim will be altered, current on shots, de-wormed, leukemia tested negative, receive Revolution for fleas and mites then will be ready to go to his home.

Pilgrim is now approximately 7 weeks old and doing great!!! He's now off formula, eating dry and wet kitten food, and using his cat box. He's very playful and is very well socialized with his foster family. He's very loving and enjoys spending time with his foster teenager Morgan, who has become very attached to him! He will be ready to move on to his forever home soon.

Pilgrim will not go to adoptions yet. But, we will accept applications and once we have a match will make an appointment to meet with Pilgrim's future family!
