Mushy and the Bears ...

Mushy came into our rescue from the shelter. She seemed a bit on the squatty side but so loveable. Once her two weeks of quarantine were over, she was off to adoptions. She wasn't at adoptions but 2-3 hours and she was chosen! She couldn't go home that day because she had a spay appointment on Monday, so her parents were anxiously awaiting news on Monday of when they could pick up their newest addition. Little did we know it wouldn't be that Monday or probably the next 8 Mondays either....Our little girl was pregnant.

On Tuesday March 20, 2007 Mushy whelped 6 puppies. Two of the little bundles are female and 4 are males. Mom is doing wonderfully and is an old pro at the mothering thing. We don't know if she's had other litters but she certainly knew what to do with this litter. Our hope is that each puppy inherits Moms wonderful personality as she is an absolute love bug and you can't ask for a better dog.

So Mushy has some more time with us while her new parents anxiously await her arrival at their home. Meanwhile she'll take care of her little bundles of joy.

Update: March 31, 2007

Momma is still as great as ever and continues to be a wonderful mom and is by far one of the best dogs I have ever fostered. There will be lots of tears when its time to say goodbye to her she is truly the best and we just love her.

Mushy's pups one month old today their eyes have been open for some time now they have just started to eat puppy food this week and are catching on wonderfully, mom is awesome and is always showing her pups how things are done. There little personalities are coming to life more and more everyday.

GummiBear -- He is his mother’s son. He is all wiggles and always happy. He loves to be loved and no matter what he is doing if you call he comes a runnin! He is the first one to explore new things and is always looking for the next adventure. GummiBear loves to be held and loved on.

LittleBear -- Oh he is just as cute as they come. His butt never stops wiggling either. It’s a Mom trait passed onto her “kids”. LittleBear is always happy and is so gentle and sweet. He is the kisser of the group and always is ready to lay a wet one on you! He is the smallest boy but he can hold his own. LittleBear is a great mixture of rough and tumble and sweet and cuddly. He has a very easy going, “Go with the flow” attitude.

TeddyBear -- Is our shy lover boy. TeddyBear is the quiet one of the group who sits and watches all that is going on and thinking about his next move. When he sees his opportunity he is on top of the puppy pile right in the midst of the action. Then when he is done he wants to crawl into your lap and fall asleep.

PoohBear -- is our sensitive soul of the group. He loves to play and can dish it out. But when things get a little rough, he is off and running to his foster mom for comfort. He loves to be scooped up and loved on and is very happy in your arms. PoohBear is gentle and loving.

CuddleBear -- She is our little tomboy of the group. She is right in the middle of everything and ready to take on the world. She loves to wrestle with her brothers. CuddleBear is devoted to her family and will follow you around like a little shadow. She just wants to be involved in everything and not miss out on one moment.

SnuggleBear -- She is all girl and the opposite of her sister. She is a little princess in the making. She loves to be pampered and doted on. When her siblings are playing, she takes that opportunity to soak up some attention. She is a momma’s girl and is very content to be with you. SnuggleBear is quiet, patient, loving, sweet and wants nothing more than to be with you!

So we have 4-boys and 2-girls in this liter.
