Minnie was turned into the shelter along with her 4 newborn babies. The owners didn't want puppies and so the shelter was the first stop to deal with the unwanted problem. Momma Minnie is a 12-14lb Poodle-Shih Tzu mix. She is fiercely protective of her puppies and served as a great mom for her little Mouseketeers. She is lover with people but let another dog get too close to her pups and she's ready to pounce!

Unfortunately, once we got Minnie home it was discovered that she had severe bladder stones and so the bottles came out for the puppies and Minnie was whisked into emergency surgery. Minnie is now recovering after her surgery and her babies are thriving even without their Momma to nurse them. They have wonderful foster parents who are a great substitute and are sustaining them.
