Jamba and the Juices
Mom came in at Christmas to the shelter. Just another stray with kittens to face an uncertain future. Often you don't see Moms and kittens this late in the year but with the warm weather there are always a few more litters out there in Southern California even in December. This was a Mom who had the almost misfortune of coming in when rescues and adopters aren't really able to take in many Moms or kittens. We got the call and have some cat fosters that were willing to step in even at this late of a date and take on a litter. So Jamba, a beautiful long haired beauty and her 5 kittens will be available in mid to late February!

We're in the midst of the battle. It's not a battle with a foe you can see but the all elusive battle with upper respiratory infection. It's common for folks help with kittens or cats in the shelter. Kittens who get the virus can die a slow death as it infects their lungs and makes it impossible to breathe. Some with meds and a bit of luck can overcome and right now we're in the midst of it as we hang onto our precious little lives and pray they will survive.

Every day is a battle and every day we worry what we will wake up to and whether we'll still have little kittens battling. We've lost 2 kittens and it's taken it's toll on the foster mom who asks a million times if there was just something she could have done. The vets can assure her, everyone can tell her that she's doing all she can do but sometimes it's just not enough to convince those who give their hearts and souls to these precious little animals.

Hope has come and not a minute too soon. The kittens are starting to show signs that they're past the worst of it and the three are thriving. They're really starting to play now.

All is well in the world of Jamba and Juice. Mom is wonderfully sweet and loving. She's very protective of her kittens if other animals try to invade her space but she miraculously has welcomed in 3 puppies who are the exact age and size of her kittens. They play together and you'd think they were all from the same family. They tumble after each other and get tired of each other and often can be found falling asleep together. The 3 kittens and 3 pups could teach us all about peace and learning to get along. The kittens appear to be fine, eyes are cleared up, no more congestion and you'd never know there was anything wrong with them the way they eat now. It's time to take that sigh of relief.

Rice Krispies have joined forces with Jamba and the Juices for the "Breakfast of Champions!" The 3 orphaned pups have been taken in by Jamba and her crew and you'd never know they are different species. Heck they don't even know it!
Hey, did you hear? There are some kittens around here. Be very, very careful...
Raising six kids is nothing next to trying to get them all to look at the camera at the same time
I'll smile. Who cares what anyone else is doing. Look at me!

This litter is now posted on our Pet List. Please go to that page and click on their pictures on the Pet List page as it will give you all the information you will need if interested in pursuing an adoption.
Jamba and the Juices came into our rescue at just a few days old. The kittens are now 6 weeks old and it's time to start the process to find them homes. There are 2 males and one female. All have lived in a home with dogs, cats and kids. They have been raised with a litter of puppies and have no idea they are actually kittens. They love to rough house with the puppies and we think we might have even heard a bark or two out of them! Yikes!
Moo'd is a one in a million personality. He is a spaz who loves people, loves animals, loves to play and you just can't get a better personality. He just explodes with personality. He is a love bug, explorer, want to be in your lap, play with anything and everything there is to play with and then zonk out with you.
Swirl is the lone girl in the litter. She has the same great personality of Moo'd but is the female version. She has just enough pizazz and you can almost hear her say, "I am woman, hear me roar!" If you want a female kitten with the world's greatest personality then this is the girl for you.
Twist is the mild guy in the litter. He's more mellow and laid back than his siblings. He can be up for a rousing game of play with pups but then he likes to chill and watch everyone. Twist is the purring machine. The minute you pick him up he's going to be purring away.
