Of course they're the cutest little pups on earth. At least that's what everyone said until they saw the bulging eye on each of them. They were turned into the shelter by a family that said they didn't know what happened to their eyes but that they didn't want them like that. As soon as the pups were accepted over the counter, the kids ran into the shelter screaming and yelling about getting new puppies.

We were called when it quickly became obvious that the dogs were in need of immediate medical attention. Thanks to a brand new foster home stepping up and asking to come on board and foster pups, these two were swooped up at the shelter. After a visit to the vet's office it's discovered that the eye injuries are due to blunt trauma. Something or someone stuck the puppies in the eye or forcibly caused an abrasion to the eyeball. Because the injuries were left untreated for so long and now are bulging out of their head(s), removal of the eye is the only option.

Our puppies will have the surgery and won't be any the wiser. We will still think they're the cutest puppies on earth. They'll just wink at us in agreement...

Jack and Elizabeth after surgery:
Both Jack and Elizabeth had their eye removed. They are recovering well and expecting that they will be going to their new homes soon! If interested, watch for them to appear on our website under the Pet List!

Here they are fully recovered! They have had their eye surgeries and they don't know the difference. They are ready to head to their new homes. Both are wonderfully sociable as they live with 4 young boys, dogs and cats. They have been introduced to the world and the world applauded.
