Barbie is a 1 year old, Mini Poodle-Maltese mix. She is about 12lbs. She will have a beautiful Maltese type of coat once it grows back in. Unfortunately she was covered in fleas and ticks when she came in and her fur was matted to her skin. We did save her face and tail but she needed a new start with the body. So she gets it. Barbie likes other dogs, likes people and doesn't mind cats. She would be fine with children as long as they have experience with dogs. She wants to be with her family and can no longer be relegated to living outside. We welcomed her in and now she's here to stay!

Barbie may be a bathing beauty now but she sure wasn't when we first took her in. While at the shelter picking up another dog, a woman came in with Barbie and her 3 puppies. We took the whole litter. She was purchased as a Toy Poodle at pet store a year ago, the family moved and the dog moved in with Mother-in-law. Then when Barbie had puppies it was too much for everyone and off to the shelter she was headed until we met them. Barbie is no worse for the wear. She adjusted immediately to her new foster home and loves the family. She has proven to be a fabulous dog.

Barbie's Dolls are now 7 weeks old. Dad is believed to be the neighbor's Chihuahua. The pups have the shorter fur though it's a bit thick. Pups will be under 20lbs when full grown. Mom has a wonderful personality and has passed it onto her kids. They are friendly and outgoing. Pups have been in a foster home with dogs, cats and kids.We are looking for homes that have puppy experience, can demonstrate a history of dogs living out their life in their homes and who do not have small children. They are the cutest, sweetest most loving little dogs. They are looking more and more Dachshund every day. They have short squatty, rolly-polly legs and now they're growing in a beautiful, soft, sheer layer of fur. At first it appeared they'd be a bit more short haired but they have whispies of a top layer. They all have fabulous personalities and are perfect for just about any family. None are overly dominant and none are too shy. You couldn't ask for a better litter to foster or to adopt out. They'll be wonderful.
