His Mom came to us from the shelter with 8 little bundles of joy inside eagerly awaiting to make their grand entrance into the world. They only had to wait a mere three days later.

He was loved from the moment his head popped out and he greeted the world. He was the first born of the litter. He was the biggest. He was the Sheriff after all.

He was tragically taken from us when a careless vet tech overdosed him during his neuter. A part of our spirit died that day. To ever have to tell a foster home that type of news has to be the most painful moments of rescue. But to hear the mournful cries of children in the background as they are being told their beloved Sheriff will not be coming home is enough to make you want to say, "I think I'm hanging up my rescue hat..." But we all did go on, if for no other reason because there are more Sheriff's that need us and want to live and if we give up, what will happen to them? We'll never forget our Sheriff.

From his Foster Mom:
Tera,
Here are the pictures of Sheriff to add to the memory page. I do not want him to be forgotten. Having my pups spayed and neutered this week brought back memories of his painful loss. He was a healthy sweet puppy. He was always the first to get in your lap and had lots of kisses to give anyone. I was angered by his needless death. I fought to keep him healthy and he deserved a full life with a family. We learned from his death and we will not allow it to happen again. He had eight weeks of nothing but love and never knew anything different. He will forever be remembered.
