Our Big Papa Pup (Eli) left us on Wednesday, November 21st. Cancer was in his lungs and we didn’t want him to suffer. Eli enjoyed each day from his morning constitutional to his cozy bed at night. He went out relaxed and snoring in my arms.

Below are some of my favorite pictures of him.

Eli only lived with us for two years but the impression he left in our hearts will be with us for a lifetime.

Eli's Success Story
"We received a call about Eli from a shelter we don't normally work with but were happy to take on the 6 year old Chow. When we arrived to pick him up we were informed that a volunteer really liked him so she wanted him to remain at the shelter until they could place him. He'd already been there 6 months without interest and if they decided to euthanize him, we wouldn't necessarily have a spot open for him later. We fought for Eli and won.

Can't say there are many out there that would fight for a 6 year old, male, all black, Chow. But we love the breed and we had fallen for the dog and we were prepared to take him on. As it turned out the Marzinsky's fostered him and then adopted him. It was a love story from the beginning for everyone. And now the story has come to a close as we all say goodbye to Eli who passed over the Bridge this past Wed. But the story has a moral to it. You can't necessarily judge that dog by his age, by his color or by his breed. And if you do, you just may miss out on a love story like none other...."
