Sophia:

She had spent her first few months running around in a backyard filled with trash and debris. She was one of 7 or 8, possibly more at one time. She was one of the lucky ones to escape and find her way to our rescue via a foster family who took her in from neighbors.

When she came in we began to realize that her pink skin wasn't normal and with the cold weather it wasn't a sun burn! Rather it turns out that she has mange and will need a few weeks to months to recover. She's being treated and is starting to do much better. Her immune system was so depleted and overly taxed from poor food and nutrition and her environment that her body just didn't couldn't fight off the mange mites. Now, she's on the road to recovery and look for her in the next month to be available for adoption.
