Silky
The shelter said she was such a lost cause they were euthanizing her immediately. It took 2 rescues and a couple volunteers to get her out of the shelter and transported to us but in the end she found her way home. Working together saved this little girls life.
She was pretty horrendous when she came in. She had every skin condition possible and she was obviously blind. After visiting the vet, who did a make shift grooming too and then finding a foster home it became apparent that her blindness was only due to dry eye and had she been given medicine for it she wouldn't be blind. It's that cruel reality that almost shakes you to the bone.
But little Miss Silky (named for what we believed was under all the crud and what her fur would someday be...) doesn't care that she is blind and it doesn't stop her at all. It also didn't stop her from winning over the heart of her eventual permanent home. Her days of creepy crawly's all over her and eyes irritated are behind her. Now she lounges on a couch and sleeps on a bed at night. What a life. And that coat? Well, now she's a groomer's delight. It's beautiful, growing in full and luscious. She's a beautiful little girl. I guess she wasn't such a lost cause after all...
