She came into the shelter covered in a substance that couldn't be identified. What could be identified was that whatever it was caused her skin to peel off and was falling off in clumps of fur and had burned patches all over her body. This poor little girl was in a pain that is indescribable. But hope was not far away. She was rushed to the vet's office by a wonderful Animal Control Officer who got her the treatment she needed initially. Then our rescue was contacted and we took her in.
Several weeks later she is doing better. She's a great spirited little gal. She is most likely a Maltese-Poodle mix. She's young, fabulous personality and is a spark plug. She loves nothing more than to be curled up with her foster mom or playing with her friends outside. Her foster family has to be careful with her because there are several places that are very sore to the touch still and will be for some time. Her canine friends seem to sense that she's been through something because they're not as rough and tumble with her as they are with others.
So our little Purty girl will be with her as we watch her recover. It's unknown how much of her fur will grow back. Some of it is rejuvenating but it's doubtful that it will come back completely in all the places. Either way, she'll find that home that loves her for her and wants to treat her like the Princess we believe she is now.

It's been just a little over three weeks and look at the progress. Her hair is growing back wonderfully and she remains as loving as ever. She is a little ball of energy and she loves to play. She will amuse herself for hours if you just give her some toys to play with. If you are up to it, then get down and play with her and that's all the better with this little girl!
