Pearl is a 5 year old female who acts like a puppy. She's wonderfully playful and excitable. She gets along great with other dogs, doesn't mind cats and has that fabulous Shih Tzu personality. Pearl came into our rescue from the shelter and had a home pending when we took her in to be spayed and received the bad news. Her female reproductive system was full of cancer. She has been fully spayed and all cancerous areas removed but everything about her future is in the air. Because it had not spread yet, her chest X-ray was negative, we have no idea if she will have cancer in the future or even what her life expectancy is at this point.

She has created quite the stir at adoptions with her sparkly personality, adorable face and that wiggly body and she shows no signs of problems. But with her history, we are looking for a home that is willing to give her whatever time she has (whether it's 1 year or 10 years) with them, but also knowing full well what her history has been with us.
