Frontier is a 3-4 month old Golden Doodle mix. He came into our rescue, after a short stint at the shelter and a week of solidary at the vet's office where he had his elbow pinned back together. Frontier has a broken elbow and he's seen the best vet around who has put it back together and now it's a waiting game. We wait to see if nature takes its course and allows the bones to fuse together and heal properly. He may always have a bit of a limp with that leg but we're hoping because he is so young and pliable that perhaps he'll have an easier time at healing. Worst case scenario is he simply learns to work around the elbow and he never has any real function with it. Right now it's taking everything we have to keep him contained. If given the opportunity he would run and jump and leap for hours. He is a bundle of energy and he wants nothing more than to be on the go! Instead, per vet's instructions he is not allowed to do anything but go outside on a leash to do his duty and then it's STRICT CRATE REST. Try telling that to a puppy! He thinks he's in purgatory but we tell him, he only has to do this for 3 weeks and then he might have full use of his leg! We expect when Frontier is full grown he will be about 30-40lbs. He may surprise us and be on the smaller size but we're betting on the higher range. Frontier has the best personality you could ever want and what a doll....He is loving, full of kisses and so much spunk. We can't wait to see him race around the yard when he's healed! He is great with dogs and cats.
