Aubrey is a special girl in many ways. She is a 2-3 year old Yorkie mix who came from a local shelter. She came into our rescue with what we believed was a significant case of kennel cough. What it turned out to be was an enlarged heart. She's on medication to control it and to keep her comfortable but we don't know what her life span will be with us or in a home. Our vet estimates 1-2 years. We are looking for a home that understands her dynamics and would like to give her a loving home for the last part of her life. Are there very many people who can unselfishly offer themselves to a dog they know they will lose sooner than another? No. We realize there are not many out there. But we are looking for that one home that will offer their home unselfishly and give her the love she deserves for as long as she is here.

Aubrey is very sweet and affectionate and loving. She prefers the quiet lifestyle. She does well with other dogs and cats. She's bossy when she's in her crate (where the door is always left open and she loves to curl up in there with her soft bed!) because that's her castle. She's housebroken. The ideal home for Aubrey is one that will love her. Period. Just love her.
