It started with the chicken killer. Our first conversation went back and forth with this woman asking if we'd help place a dog who had been found in traffic and was now killing livestock on the ranch she lived on. Due to being full we were unable to help her. But she wasn't swayed. She continued to seek opportunities and options for finding this dog a home. Finally she said, "Ok, how about if I just stand outside the door of where you are doing adoptions and don't act like I'm even with your group? Will you let me do that?"

How do you say no to someone who is so persistent. Thank heavens we didn't! And so our relationship began several years ago with Sage. She's like a blast of cool air on a scorching hot day. She comes in and revives those of us who are parched and need a fusion of energy. She's there to help transport, attend big events or just lend an ear when one of us needs to chat. She's our wise ol' Sage.

Sage is not a rescuer per se. She's a stray animal magnet. It's a curse and she has it. She didn't and doesn't volunteer to work with our rescue, rather the Universe appointed her this position and she follows the path...Whether it was the Chow playing car tag on Limonite, content to get hit instead of getting in Sage's car or the Yorkie/Chi who was abandoned and naturally found Sage or the German Shepherd Dog who drug herself half dead onto Sage's property, it's her curse and she'd have it no other way.
