Foster Homes Needed! Please help save a life!

If you are not interested in adopting but want to make a short term commitment to save a life, FOSTER! Email us and together we'll save another life today!

We do not have a shelter nor do we board our animals in a facility. We are a foster home network which means each and every animal lives in a home. Most of our small dogs are with us less than 3 weeks. Our larger dogs can be with us up to 5-6 weeks but sometimes they are adopted out quite quickly. Our adult cats are with us until they are able to go to Petco which is usually within 1-2 weeks. Our kittens are with us until they are 8 weeks or able to go to our adoption site.

Our foster homes take care of the animal during the week and on the weekend they bring the animal to our adoption site. It is simply the easiest way to help save the life of an animal without the life-time commitment. Some homes travel for business and are unable to care for an animal on an on-going basis but are able to foster for 1-2 week stretches. That is fine. Some families are looking to show their children the responsibility involved in having an animal and fostering provides a short term opportunity. We provide all medical care and we provide food, a crate, e-pen or whatever is needed to assist the foster home.

There are families that wish the opportunity to have puppies or kittens in their home or have their children experience the miracle of birth without adding to the overpopulation problem that plagues our nation. There are hundreds of litters of animals killed in our shelters daily because there are not enough rescues, foster homes or people to take care of them. We are always willing to rescue a litter if a family will give us a commitment to care for them until they are adopted. Both puppies and kittens begin to be adopted at the age of 8 weeks so generally this is a longer commitment.

However for those 8 weeks (if the babies are newborns) the foster family will not be bringing the animals to adoptions. For families that are busy on the weekends and would have difficulty transporting on a weekly basis sometimes this is the best option. There are puppies and kittens of all ages in our shelters so sometimes it is not an 8 week commitment for a litter but rather a 3-4 week commitment.

We rescue from local shelters and we can only rescue animals if we have foster homes available. A short term commitment means life or death for animals in the shelter. For every foster home we have, we save the life of an animal that would otherwise die in the shelter.

Please consider saving the life of an animal today. Be a foster parent!!!
