Zaras List

It's a bustling household w/ the voices of 5 children. They're an active family that could easily say their plate is too full or they don't have enough time or energy to help animals. But instead they opened their heart to a rescue dog they called their own and then they decided to foster to help save more lives. It's this kind of home we call "family" at Zara's List. We're grateful for all they have done to help us save the lives of animals. We're grateful for parents who find the value in allowing kids to learn responsibility in taking care of animals. We're grateful for the love they have shown each four legged friend that has crossed their threshold.

These kids became a part of our foster families in February 2006. They adopted their first dog from us with money they earned by selling candy to their neighborhood. Their dog, Summer, got lost and after spending time at the shelters, seeing how miserable the dogs were there, they decided they wanted to keep helping get dogs out of those awful places.

At the beginning of May, they asked for a litter of puppies. Tragically, the day this picture was taken, Summer was let out of the back yard and was hit by a car. Instead of choosing to send the puppies and their mommy back to the rescue so they could grieve, the kids put even more effort into loving all 6 dogs that they had been entrusted with and knew that they still had enough love to give...They miss Summer a lot, but they're as committed as ever to helping other strays out there.
